Morbid Librarian

So I just read the Sandman Vol.1 by Neil Gaiman and it was amazing. I first of all should state that I'm big Neil Gaiman fan. I am done American Gods. I have done Stardust. I have also read M is for Magic which led me to the Graveyard Book so I'm a big fan of his work and I know I still have lots more to read. However, in the Sandman Vol.1 -I did not know it was part of the DC Universe. So that is my question: Did the Sandman exist before Neil Gaiman and this is just his interpretation? Or did he create the Sandman and DC Comics said "he's like a cool character?" I'm going to do more research on that idea.  I absolutely loved it even though it had a bit of a slow start...I was like "where's the Sandman?" "Where is the Sandman?" "When is he happening?" Grr! I don't understand... But, it was awesome and it was even made more awesome with all the DC characters. Even with my very limited knowledge of DC char...

So I just finished the book "I Crawl Through It" by A.S. King. Goodreads has it rated at 3.5ish but I gave it a 5-star rating. Perhaps I am too giving in the sense of rating, but I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Without giving too much away, the book follows about 3-4 teenage characters life in high school who are each dealing with different issues and struggles. A majority of the characters are female who have different struggles and the book recounts their struggles from the end result (this is where the book starts)  to them eventually coming to terms with their struggle and as it implies  crawling through it  instead of a rounded or underneath it or over it. The major issue with book that many readers have is the surrealism and the lack of "definitity" that comes from the explanations and the dialogue and the whole setting of the story. Perhaps, I will spend time on a different day divulging and what I believe the  place of arrival  is and ot...

If a tree falls in the woods and no one's around does it make any noise? If you refuse to acknowledge a date or an event does it cease to exist? I guess that's how ignorance is bred. If I refuse to think of today as a day that means anything will it go away? Or am I just lying to myself and postponing the inevitable? Is the issue the ostrich effect? Head in the sand but if the sand moves or you'll need to come up for air eventually. I will be the first to admit that I don't follow politics closely. It is not for a lack of understanding or low intelligence, but rather a want for ignorance and bliss . I am an optimist at heart and I feel- I'm an optimist in body and soul as well. "You have her eyes." As a matter of fact I guess I do have a whole box of her somewhere her/my house. I never wanted to keep the box except my father wanted it and he doesn't even look at it or know where it's at. Who knew it costs over $1,000 to burn a body... to cremate it. Who knew death was so expensive?
